Upper Single Sheave Frame

The Upper Single Sheave Frame is a steel structure connected to a single sheave at the top of the elevator cabin. This yoke securely holds the suspension cables and is installed parallel to the guide rails above the cabin. It is also used in elevators with a rear counterweight and reverse configuration.

What is a Yoke?

A yoke, also known as a car frame, is one of the main mechanical components of an elevator and plays a crucial role in force transmission and movement.

Typically made from high-strength metals, the yoke serves as the central axis or main structural frame between the elevator cabin and the lifting system.

The yoke works in conjunction with the suspension cables and the elevator motor to ensure stable and safe movement of the cabin along its travel path.
